A comprehensive site for journalists to find free online resources, educational materials and other IRE offerings.
Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc. (IRE) is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of investigative reporting. This microsite was inspired by the mission of AccessFest, IRE’s online conference that focuses on diversity, belonging, equity and inclusion (DBEI) issues for newsrooms, as well as on making training materials more affordable and accessible for people from various backgrounds.
To help our members and any journalist who is interested in investigative journalism, we built this microsite to include educational materials such as:
-
Resources around data journalism, public records requests, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools, and more.
-
Editorial guides on covering specific subject areas and communities such as the Trans Journalist Association’s Glossary of Terms and the Pulitzer Center’s Guide on Covering Climate
-
A variety of opportunities for career growth and care like fellowships, Pen America’s Online Harassment Field Manual, the Digital Self-Defense Guide from the EFF and others
-
